Demonstration of RLP workers against the government in the Collectorate

RLP workers tried to enter the Collectorate in Sikar, Rajasthan, but were stopped by the police. After this there was uproar and slogans were raised against the government. The workers protested regarding law and order and transfer dispute.

Sikar: On Monday, outside the Collectorate complex became a major center of political and social protests in Rajasthan’s Sikar district. The situation turned tense when protesting Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) workers tried to enter the Collectorate premises. The police tried to stop them, after which a lot of sloganeering and uproar was seen on the spot.

Meanwhile, demonstrations by different organizations and political parties continued in the district, due to which the Collectorate area remained the center of political activities throughout the day.

RLP workers’ anger, uproar after the rally

Rashtriya Loktantrik Party workers took out a protest rally against the alleged deteriorating law and order situation in the state. The rally started from the Dak Bungalow complex and reached outside the Collectorate, where the workers raised slogans against the government and administration.

During the demonstration, sharp slogans were also raised against Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and BJP State President Madan Rathod. The situation became more tense when the workers burnt the effigy of the Chief Minister and tried to enter the Collectorate premises.

The police force showed promptness on the spot and stopped the protesters from going inside, thereby avoiding a confrontation.

RLP leaders’ allegations: “Dissatisfaction in government and administration

RLP district in-charge Vikas Pachar alleged that law and order is continuously deteriorating in the state. According to him, the general public is troubled by inflation, rising prices of petrol and diesel and administrative apathy.

He also alleged that officers were being transferred due to political pressure. According to him, action was taken against several administrative officials after the protest by BJP state president Madan Rathod, which indicates political pressure.

Along with this, he said that the government’s action against party chief Hanuman Beniwal looks like political vendetta.

Strictness of police and administration, situation under control

Sikar police deployed additional force during the protest to avoid any untoward situation. Police stopped the workers from entering the Collectorate premises and controlled the situation.

Administrative officials also talked to a delegation of protesters and heard their demands. After this the matter calmed down to some extent, although political rhetoric continued.

Congress’s separate protest: Protest reached with camels

On the same day, Congress party workers also staged a unique demonstration outside the Sikar Collectorate complex. In protest against the increase in prices of petrol and diesel, Congress workers reached the protest site with camels and raised slogans against the government.

Congress leaders alleged that rising inflation has broken the back of the common people. He said that instead of providing relief to the public, the government is only making statements.

Block President Rajesh Saini said that in the present circumstances the democratic processes are becoming weak and the problems of the people are not being taken seriously.

Demonstration of retired policemen, demand for resignation of minister

In another protest in Sikar, retired police personnel expressed anger over the alleged audio controversy of Minister Gautam Duck. The protesters raised slogans outside the Collectorate and demanded the resignation of the minister.

Retired policeman Surendra alleged that abusive language was used with the police personnel, due to which the departmental honor has been hurt. He demanded that this matter should be investigated impartially and action should be taken against the culprits.

The protesters warned that if action was not taken within 15 days, a major agitation would be launched at the state level.

Protest in Khatushyamji also, anger over demand for arrest

A separate protest was also seen in Khatushyamji area of ​​Sikar district. On the night of 26th May, angry people took out a rally and started protesting outside the police station due to non-arrest of the accused in the case of assault on a youth.

The protesters accused police of inaction and demanded immediate arrest. Local people say that it has been more than a week since the incident, but no concrete action has been taken till now.

Increasing impact of social and political tension

Several different protests in Sikar in a single day have raised questions over the administrative system and law and order situation. The rhetoric between political parties, demonstrations by social organizations and local disputes combined to create a tense atmosphere in the district.

Experts believe that such continuous protests increase pressure on administrative resources and may affect development work.
