Demonstration of vocational teachers in Shimla, front opened against outsourced companies – ..

Shimla, 4 November (Hindustan Reporter). Vocational teachers posted on outsourced basis in government schools of the state protested at Chauda Maidan in Shimla on Monday against not receiving arrears of salary on Diwali. During this, the teachers raised slogans against the service provider companies and demanded the government to expel these companies and merge them with the education department. Vocational teachers from across the state participated in this protest. Two thousand vocational teachers are serving in about 1100 schools of the state.

These teachers accused the companies of exploitation and said that the company is disobeying the orders of the government and the education department. They are not getting their salaries on time. His Diwali has been lackluster due to non-payment of salary arrears.

Vocational Teachers Association President Ashwani Datwalia said that the companies through which they have been appointed. Teachers are being exploited by them. Companies are ignoring the instructions of the Education Department. Arrears have not been paid to the teachers yet. The Education Department had asked the companies to pay the arrears before October 20.

He said that some companies have not yet paid the arrears and the teachers who have been paid have also been given different amounts while the salary is the same. He said that this government wants to give money to teachers while the companies are ignoring the orders of the government and the department. He said that he will remain on strike till he does not get any assurance from the government, otherwise he will remain on strike here.

Suchita Sharma, a vocational teacher present in the protest, said that she has been serving in different schools for more than 11 years. More than two thousand teachers are currently serving. Even after so many years, companies are exploiting them. He demanded from the government that a policy should be made for them and the companies should be shown the way out, so that they can get freedom from exploitation.
