Deputy engineer took bribe from Gram Panchayat Secretary, Lokayukta police caught red handed

The team of Lokayukta Police Indore has caught a sub-engineer posted in Maheshwar district panchayat office of Khargone district red handed while taking bribe. The accused sub-engineer was taking bribe from the Gram Panchayat Secretary.

According to the information received from the Lokayukta Superintendent of Police office, Indore, Mangan Singh Makwane, resident of village Awaliya Tehsil Maheshwar District Khargone, had given a complaint application in the office in which he had accused Manoj Savle, Deputy Engineer (Contract) posted in the District CEO Office, of demanding bribe.

What is the whole matter?

In the complaint application, Mangan Singh told that he is the Secretary of Gram Panchayat Badvel / Kankaria Tehsil Maheshwar District Khargone. He had constructed a well mesh in the village and had also got other works done. Instead of giving the completion certificate of his work, Deputy Engineer Manoj Savle, Office of the Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Maheshwar District Khargone is demanding a bribe of Rs 14,000/-.

The applicant said that the sub-engineer has already taken Rs 4000/- from him through UPI by applying pressure, now he is demanding more. After receiving the complaint application, SP ordered verification. During verification, the demand for bribe was found to be true.

Lokayukta police caught deputy engineer red handed taking bribe

After getting evidence of demand for bribe, a trap was planned, the Deputy Engineer called the Secretary to the office today on 5th June with Rs 4000/-, the team of Indore Lokayukta Police reached there on time and as soon as the Gram Panchayat Secretary gave the bribe amount to the Deputy Engineer, the Lokayukta Police caught him red handed, the Lokayukta Police has registered a case against the accused Deputy Engineer under the sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and taken him under investigation.
