Despite the defeat, captain Shreyas Iyer supported the young players, said – this is a period of change and we will make many mistakes.

IND vs ENG 4th T20I : In the fourth T20I match played in Bristol on Thursday, England defeated India by 9 wickets and captured the series 3-0. This is the second consecutive series defeat under the leadership of new captain Shreyas Iyer. Earlier, the team had to face 0-2 defeat against Ireland. But, the Indian captain has expressed confidence in his players. He said that this is a period of change and we will make many mistakes.

“This is a period of change and we will make a lot of mistakes. You are seeing many young players here playing for the first time in these conditions. So, it is through mistakes that they will realize how important it is to adapt to foreign conditions and understand the conditions there,” Shreyas Iyer said in the post-match presentation after the defeat in the fourth T20I against England and the series loss. He further added, “It is important that you learn quickly from your mistakes so that in the end the team also benefits from it. And I am sure there are people in the team who learn quickly. I am sure they will test themselves and come back stronger in the next game.”

Let us tell you that before the tour of Ireland and England, the captaincy of the Indian team was handed over to Shreyas Iyer. But, nothing much has happened in the captaincy career for Iyer. Under his leadership, India lost to Ireland for the first time and also faced a clean sweep of 0-2. Now the team has lost the series against England by 0-3. This is the first time that England has defeated India in a bilateral T20I series of two or more matches. India have won five of the last six series, while one has been drawn. In such a situation, questions are being raised on the decision of the team management.
