Devara box office collection day 1: Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor film makes a solid opening

New Delhi: As expected, Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Devara: Part 1 has made a smashing opening at the box office. Koratala Siva’s directorial, which was released in theatres on Friday (September 27), earned a total collection of Rs 140 crore worldwide.

Devara: Part 1 was released in theatres in five different languages including Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil. The film witnessed strong occupancy rates in the Telugu market. However, the Hindi version of the film had a lower occupancy rate. Let’s delve into more exciting details!

The much-anticipated film, Devara: Part 1earned Rs 77 crore in all languages in the domestic market, as per Sacnilk. The Telugu version of the film collected maximum earnings, collecting a total of Rs 68.6 crore on its opening day. The film performed decently in other languages including Rs 7 crore from the Hindi version, Rs 0.3 crore from the Kannada version, the Tamil version minted Rs 0.8 crore and the Malayalam version earned Rs 0.3 crore.

Talking about the worldwide gross collection, Devara: Part 1 collected Rs 140 crore on its opening day.

If the film manages to get footfalls in the theatres, then it is expected to dominate the box office over the opening weekend. Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1 is expected to cross the Rs 250-crore mark at the ticket window.

About Devara: Part 1

Devara Part: 1 features Jr NTR in a dual role (Devara and Varadha). The film also marked Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu cinema debut and features Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist in the film. The film also features Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma, and Shine Tom Chacko in important roles.

Set against the backdrop of a coastal island during the 1980s and 90s, Devara: Part 1 starring Jr NTR narrates the story of Devara and Varadha.

According to the reports, the film will have its OTT premiere on online streaming giant Netflix. Reportedly, the OTT platform brought digital rights for Rs 100 crore.
