Development work worth up to Rs 5 crore will be done in every assembly constituency in UP, CM asked for proposals from public representatives

Yogi government has started a new initiative to speed up development works in Uttar Pradesh. Under this, a plan has been made to carry out development work worth about Rs 5 crore in every assembly constituency of the state. For this, proposals for development projects have been sought from all public representatives as per the needs of their respective areas. The objective of the government is to identify the necessary works at the local level and complete them expeditiously, so that the common people can get direct benefits.

Proposals sought from MLAs within a week

According to government sources, the Chief Minister has asked all the MLAs and Legislative Council members to prepare proposals for development works keeping in mind the primary needs of their respective areas. Instructions have been given to send these proposals to the Chief Minister’s Office within a week.

Along with this, District Magistrates (DM) have also been instructed to examine these proposals and after completing the necessary process, make arrangements to provide funds for development works.

Work will be done according to local needs

The government has given freedom to the public representatives that they can suggest different types of development works according to the needs of their area. These may include projects related to road construction, bridges, community centers, wedding processions, convention centers and public facilities.

Apart from this, installation of street lights on roads, construction of public toilets and works related to other civic amenities can also be included in the proposal. The Chief Minister also said that if needed, proposals like making a chamber for advocates in the Tehsil Headquarters, District Court or High Court premises can also be given.

responsibility given to officers

An important role has been decided for the district administration to implement this scheme. Commissioners, District Magistrates and Chief Development Officers of all the districts have been instructed to monitor the proposed works and make arrangements to complete them on time.

The government believes that if the administration and public representatives work together at the local level, development projects can be completed quickly.

The public will get direct benefits

Experts believe that with this initiative, small but important development works will be completed faster. Many times local level problems like roads, street lights, community buildings or public facilities remain pending for a long time.

If works worth up to Rs 5 crore are completed in every assembly constituency, it will strengthen the infrastructure in both rural and urban areas and people will get better facilities.

The government says that this initiative is not only an effort to speed up development but also to directly connect the needs of the public with policy making.
