Kartik Purnima festival today, devotees took holy bath at these places including Varanasi-Prayagraj

Kartik Purnima 2024: Today, Kartik Purnima is being celebrated with great joy across the country. There is excitement in every part of the country on the occasion of this festival. Taking bath in the month of Kartik has special significance. On the occasion of this special bathing festival, devotees took bath in the rivers including Varanasi and Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh. On the last day of Kartik month, a crowd of devotees was seen in Varanasi to take a holy dip in the river Ganga. A large number of devotees reach here and take a dip in the river Ganga. Crowds of bathers had started gathering since late night.

Devotees took bath in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

Here, apart from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of Kartik Purnima, devotees from Madhya Pradesh took a holy dip in the Narmada river and offered prayers.

 

Uttarakhand: On the occasion of Kartik Purnima in Haridwar, devotees took a holy dip in the river Ganga at Har Ki Pauri.

 

Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh: On the occasion of Kartik Purnima, devotees took a holy dip in the Yamuna river at Goughat and offered prayers.

 

 

Importance of bathing on Kartik Purnima

Here, taking bath on Kartik Purnima is important. It is said that taking bath on Kartik Purnima fulfills all the desires. Apart from this, Dev Diwali is celebrated today which is special on the full moon date of Kartik month. It is said that on this day Lord Shiva freed the gods from the terror of the demon named Tripurasura, in whose joy the gods celebrated by lighting lamps in the Vaikuntha world. There are rules for celebrating Dev Diwali in Lord Shiva's city Kashi, Haridwar and Prayagraj.
