Its first phase has been constructed in an area of approximately 1,300 hectares. This phase includes one runway and a terminal building. It is estimated that in the initial phase this airport will have the capacity to handle about 1.2 crore passengers every year.
An important test flight was also successfully completed at this airport in December 2024. IndiGo airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft conducted a verification flight here, which tested the technical and operational preparedness of the airport.
