Dhamaal 4 Actress: ‘Dhamaal 4’ heroine Anjali Anand became victim of body shaming due to pain, weight and height; Gave a befitting reply to trolls
The fourth installment of the famous comedy franchise ‘Dhamal 4’ is in the news these days for its release. But along with the film, its lead actress Anjali Anand has also come into the limelight. Anjali, who has traveled from the world of TV and OTT to the big screen, took almost a decade long to get the lead role opposite Riteish Deshmukh in this big film. However, amidst this huge success, the actress is facing very lewd comments and ‘fat-shaming’ on social media regarding her weight and height, on which she has openly expressed her opinion.
"What days have come, the buffalo was taken away" — Anjali spoke about the cruelty of trolls. In a recent interview, Anjali Anand talked about the hatred and trolling she is getting online after the release of the trailer of ‘Dhamal 4’. He told that people are making very insensitive comments on social media about his looks. Trolls are writing, "Which buffalo did the heroine take?", "What bad days have come for Ritesh Deshmukh that he has to work with this girl."And "Are heroines finished in Bollywood?" Anjali said that even after playing the powerful role of Ranveer Singh’s sister in the film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, there has been no significant change in the thinking of the industry and society for her. What did Anjali say about the jokes made on obesity in the film? When Anjali was asked that she is so vocal against body-shaming in real life, then why did she do a film in which jokes are made on her weight? On this the actress gave a very practical answer. He said, "Unless the society changes its thinking, the scripts of films will not change. Because cinema shows only what happens in real life. Those who are pointing fingers at the jokes of the film today, I am sure that some time ago they too must have made fun of someone or the other after seeing their obesity in real life."
"I have to run the house, I will pretend to be the best fat girl in the world"
Anjali made it clear that if the character of a plus-size or fat girl is written in cinema, she will definitely do it. He said, "If I don’t do this role, someone else will. But I want to do this work because I know how to present this character as a strong girl on screen without making her a ‘victim’. The name of my character in the film is Paro, who is very strong." Anjali further said that she has to run her house and work. It takes a lot of courage to accept such roles and see yourself making fun on screen and he has that courage. She wants to become such a big star in the future that makers will write special roles for her based on her looks. Anjali looked very emotional and happy while sharing her experience with the star cast of ‘Dhamal 4’. He praised Riteish Deshmukh and said that he and his wife Genelia are very wonderful and positive people. Her on-screen chemistry with Ritesh was very natural. Apart from this, he described working with director Indra Kumar, superstar Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Ravi Kishan and Sanjeeda Sheikh as life-changing and expressed hope that this film will attract a huge crowd at the box office.
