Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth divorce: Famous South Indian cinema actor Dhanush and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth are now officially divorced. On November 27, 2024, the Chennai Family Court approved their divorce. After a long period of speculation, both of them decided to part ways by mutual consent.
Dhanush and Aishwarya had announced their separation in January 2022 and filed for divorce in the same year. Although both of them did not attend the hearing several times, they expressed their consent during in-camera proceedings in the Chennai court on 21 November.
Chennai Family Court gave approval
Chennai Family Court Judge Shubhadevi confirmed her decision to Dhanush and Aishwarya during in-camera proceedings on November 21. Both clearly expressed their desire for separation, after which the judge gave the final order of divorce on 27 November.
18 years of marital journey
Dhanush and Aishwarya were married in a grand ceremony in Chennai in 2004. Many big personalities from the film industry and politics participated in this marriage. Their 18-year long relationship was initially happy, but due to mutual differences, they decided to separate.
Aishwarya is the daughter of superstar Rajinikanth.
Aishwarya is the daughter of superstar Rajinikanth and his wife Latha Rajinikanth, while Dhanush is the son of directors Kasturi Raja and Vijayalakshmi. Both of them have two sons, Yatra and Linga, for whose upbringing both of them have promised to take responsibility together.
Separation announcement in January 2022
Dhanush and Aishwarya had publicly announced their separation in January 2022. However, the divorce process got delayed as both of them did not attend the court hearing thrice. Finally, on November 21, both of them appeared in the court and completed the process.
