Dharamshala T20: Bowlers prepared the way to victory, India beats South Africa by 7 wickets, leads 2-1 in the series

Dharamshala, 14 December. On Sunday night, on the fast bowling-friendly pitch of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium, the host bowlers paved the way for the victory of Team India, which defeated South Africa by seven wickets with 25 balls to spare in the third T20 match and once again took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Arshdeep and Harshit and company restricted Proteas to 117 runs.

After winning the coin toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav, sensing the mood of the pitch, asked the Proteas to bat first and his bowlers did the rest. ‘Player of the Match’ Arshdeep Singh (2-13) and Harshit Rana (2-34), who was included in the eleven in place of Jasprit Bumrah, who was unavailable due to personal reasons, spoiled the start.

Markram’s half-century effort also did not work

After this, Varun Chakraborty (2-11), Kuldeep Yadav (2-12), Hardik Pandya (1-23) and Shivam Dubey (1-21) together restricted South Africa to 117 runs in 20 overs. However, Aiden Markram, of course, made a half-century effort (61 runs, 46 balls, two sixes, six fours) with a determined batting. But apart from them, only Donovan Ferreira (20) and Enrich Norke (12) could reach double figures.

Fast half-century partnership between Abhishek and Gill

In response, India achieved an easy victory by scoring 120 runs for three wickets in 15.5 overs. In front of a weak target, explosive Abhishek Sharma (35 runs, 18 balls, three sixes, three fours) and Shubman Gill (28 runs, 28 balls, five fours) gave a good start to India with a quick partnership of 60 runs in 32 balls. Then Tilak Verma (26 runs not out, 34 balls, three fours) with the help of Surya (12 runs, 11 balls, two fours) and Shivam Dubey (10 runs not out, four balls, one six, one four) gave the hosts the victory.
