Recently in an interview, Hema Malini talked about the last wish of late superstar Dharmendra. During this conversation, he also talked openly about his relationship with Dharmendra’s children Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol from his first wife.

Let us tell you that Dharmendra and Hema were married in 1980 and they have two daughters – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Before marrying Hema, Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur, with whom he has four children – sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and daughters Ajita and Vijayata.

Dharmendra’s last message to Hema Malini

Speaking to Hindi Rush, Hema recalled that Dharmendra always talked about the importance of family above everything else. He said, “Dharam ji always used to say that spend as much time as possible with the children. Spend time with the children, with the family. He always used to say that stay united with the family, this is very important in today’s times, which is not seen these days. Nowadays children go their own ways.”

When asked about the last wish she left, Hema said, “That’s exactly what he said, ‘Be with the family. Be with all of them. Work can go on but family should be given the utmost importance.’

Relationship with Sunny and Bobby

Talking about the assumptions made about family relationships, Hema said, ‘They are very sweet. Sunny is very nice. Bobby is very nice. We all always stay together. We don’t do any publicity, but internally we are all very good. We are all united. We are a very happy family. Hema Malini said that Dharmendra only wanted his family to be together.

Dharmendra’s death

Dharmendra died in November 2025 at the age of 89. After his death, the Deol family organized a tribute meeting in Mumbai. Hema and her daughters did not attend this prayer meeting and instead they organized a prayer meeting at their home on the same day. A few days later, another prayer meeting was held in Delhi in the memory of the veteran actor.
