Rs 3100 in Mumbai, Rs 2400 in Delhi – Fans’ spy-thriller craze continues – Obnews
Aditya Dhar’s spy action thriller *Dhurandhar: The Revenge* (sequel to 2025 blockbuster *Dhurandhar*) is building tremendous hype ahead of its theatrical release on March 19, 2026, with advance bookings despite the premium pricing showing that fans are extremely excited.
Paid previews will begin a day earlier, on March 18, 2026. According to Sacnilk tracking, domestic advance sales for the preview have surged: over 3.5 lakh tickets were sold across India, earning around ₹18-20 crore (recent updates put the total at ₹23-24 crore including blocked seats). The Hindi version is the biggest contributor, with an average ticket price of ₹418 and the Dolby Cine format at ₹759.
Premium recliner seats have the highest rates: Mumbai’s INOX Megaplex (Borivali) tops out at ₹3,100, while Delhi’s PVR Select City Walk charges ₹2,400 for similar luxury seating. Despite these high prices – which are much higher than the standard rate – shows are selling out quickly or approaching capacity, which reflects the film’s appeal as a near-4-hour entertainer.
Internationally, demand was strong in North America (especially the USA): the premiere sold 38,545 tickets across 557 venues, grossing $618,911 (≈ ₹5.15 crore). The total global premiere figures are in excess of 2.5-2.75 lakh tickets, giving it record-breaking openings and the potential to challenge benchmarks such as previous blockbusters.
The film is releasing across India in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam coinciding with festivals like Eid, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi to attract more and more people. Ranveer Singh reprises his dual-role lead role as undercover agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi/Hamza Ali Mazari, who faces high-stakes espionage and revenge. The cast includes Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and others.
After the stupendous success of the first film (over ₹890 crore domestically, ₹1,300 crore worldwide), expectations are high from the sequel’s box office impact.
