Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ranveer Singh’s lovelorn saga, ‘Dhurandhar 2’, took a stellar start at the box office and crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on its first day. Even delay and cancellation of shows in some areas on preview day and opening day could not stop the film from crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ earned Rs 102 crore at the domestic box office, which is four times more than ‘Dhurandhar’ released in December 2025.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 102.55 crore on the opening day, of which Hindi contributed Rs 99.10 crore. Kannada and Malayalam, which could not show paid previews due to technical issues and content unavailability, earned Rs 0.8 crore and Rs 0.9 crore respectively. The Tamil version earned Rs 1.16 crore from 958 shows in India. Telugu contributed Rs 2.12 crore to the total earning. ‘Dhurandhar’, which became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, opened with Rs 27 crore at the box office last December. In this way, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ earned almost four times more than ‘Dhurandhar’ on its opening day.

Animal and soldier’s record broken

Looking at the records of recent Hindi blockbusters, Dhurandhar 2 is leading by a huge margin. Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal (2023), directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, earned Rs 63 crore, while Shahrukh Khan’s film Jawan (2023) earned Rs 65 crore on its opening day. On 18 December, paid previews of Dhurandhar 2 took place in several cities across India. According to Sacnilk, despite many shows being canceled that day, the film earned Rs 43 crore from 12,735 shows. Apologizing for the inconvenience, director Aditya Dhar wrote: “To our dear Dhurandhar family, Dhurandhar is not just a film for us, it is something we have lived, nurtured, and dreamed of sharing with you all, in the same moment, in every language.” Most of our Hindi shows across India are running at the same time from 5 PM onwards. All our Tamil and Telugu shows will start from 9 pm. “However, due to some sudden technical glitches, our Malayalam and Kannada shows will start tomorrow morning.”
