‘Dhurandhar 2’ did not stop even in the second weekend… crossed Rs 1300 crore in 11 days, will it join the Rs 2000 crore club?
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has been rocking the box office since its release and is making new records every day. After crossing the Rs 1000 crore mark in the first week itself, the film has maintained its strong hold in the second weekend also, which makes it clear that the craze of the audience is not going to subside yet.
This spy thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, performed brilliantly in the second weekend as well. The film made a strong comeback after a slight decline in the weekdays. On the second Friday, the film earned around Rs 41.75 crore, while on Saturday this figure increased to Rs 62.85 crore.
On Sunday, the film created a new history and earned around Rs 68 crore, which is considered to be the second highest Sunday collection for any Indian film. In this way, in just 11 days, the domestic collection of the film has reached approximately Rs 847 crore (gross Rs 1012 crore).
The magic of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is visible even in foreign countries
The performance of this film has been tremendous not only in India but also abroad. In the first weekend itself, the film had earned more than 7 million dollars in the international market. Although the earnings slowed down a bit in the middle of the week, the film picked up pace again in the second weekend. With earnings of around $3 million on Sunday, its total overseas collection reached around $38 million. The special thing is that this film has now become the highest grossing Indian film in North America.
‘Dhurandhar 1’ was also left behind
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has also left behind the record of his previous film ‘Dhurandhar’. While the first film had earned around Rs 1307 crore worldwide, the sequel has now crossed the mark of Rs 1365 crore. Now this film is rapidly rising in the list of the biggest films of Indian cinema and is behind only films like ‘Dangal’, ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Pushpa 2’.
Star cast and story of the film
Ranveer Singh is seen in the lead role in this film, along with whom actors like R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi are also playing important roles. Released on March 19, this film is a powerful spy thriller, in which a great mix of action and emotion is seen.
Looking at the pace of the film, it is clear that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ can create bigger records in the coming days. Trade experts believe that if this trend continues, this film can soon join the Rs 2000 crore club and write a new chapter in the history of Indian cinema.
