The makers of the film told in the court that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ can be available on the OTT platform by the middle of May. Usually any big film is brought on OTT 8 to 10 weeks after its theatrical release. In the case of ‘Dhurandhar 2’, the same time is being completed. On May 14, the film will complete 8 weeks in the theatre. Therefore, there is a possibility that this film will be released on OTT on Friday, May 15, 2026.

What did the court say?

The court had suggested mediation to both the parties to resolve the dispute by talking to each other, but unfortunately that effort was not successful. Super Cassettes, the company that holds the audio and music rights of the film, opposed the petition in the court. Nevertheless, the film team B62 Films clearly told the court that the film has already been released in theaters and is now set to be released on OTT by mid-May.

Copyright dispute and disclosure in court

Actually, a copyright case is going on in Delhi High Court due to the very popular song Tirchi Topiwale from the old film Tridev being used without permission in ‘Dhurandhar 2’. During the hearing of this case, the film making team told the court when the film is going to be released on OTT. Now 7 weeks have passed since the film was released in theatres. Despite this, the film’s strong run continues. Even after 50 days, it is earning lakhs of rupees daily. Interestingly, its earning is more than the recently released Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan’s film ‘Ek Din’.
