The popularity of the film can be gauged from its occupancy. The total occupancy on Sunday was more than 62%, which is very good. In the morning shows, more than 42% of the audience came, whereas in the afternoon and evening shows, the hall was filled between 75% to 80%. This clearly shows how much the audience is liking the film. ‘Dhurandhar’ is doing wonders in foreign countries also. Till now, around Rs 170 crore has been earned in overseas. About Rs 76 crore has come from North America alone, which is fantastic for a Hindi film.
Defeated Hollywood film ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’
‘Dhurandhar’ is also being compared to the big Hollywood film ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. In the third week, ‘Dhurandhar’ earned around Rs 93 crore nett in India, while ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ earned only around Rs 66 crore despite being released in multiple languages. This is much less than the opening weekend of the previous ‘Avatar’ film. The total earning of this James Cameron film is currently around 79 crores, but ‘Dhurandhar’ is completely dominating the ticket window and is showing no signs of stopping.
More collection expected on holidays
The film was released without any major holiday, but now the Christmas holiday is coming, due to which further increase in earnings is expected from Thursday. If the film continues like this, it will soon join the Rs 1,000 crore club. This is a very big and elite club, which very few films can reach. This film is very special for Ranveer Singh. If everything goes well, then after Shahrukh Khan and Prabhas, he will join those few actors whose films have earned more than Rs 2,000 crore. Also, the sequel of the film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is going to be released in March 2026. If the sequel also becomes a similar hit, then Ranveer will become the actor who has given two 1,000 crore films in the shortest time, which will be a new record.
