Dhurandhar stuck in trouble amid huge earnings, Baloch reached High Court due to a dialogue
Dhurandhar In Trouble: Ranveer Singh starrer film ‘Dhurandhar’ has been in the news a lot these days. But at this time a big news has come out regarding the film. Yes, amidst huge earnings, ‘Dhurandhar’ is embroiled in controversies. Some members of the Baloch community have filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court objecting to a dialogue in the film. The petitioners have demanded action against the film’s director Aditya Dhar and have also appealed to remove the relevant dialogue from the film. It has been alleged in the petition that this dialogue used in the film falls in the category of hate speech and the Baloch community has been targeted through it.
Controversy arose regarding this dialogue
Actually, this controversy has arisen over a dialogue of Chaudhary Aslam, the character played by Sanjay Dutt in the film. It is said in the dialogue, “You can trust the crocodile, but not Baloch.” Gandhinagar resident Yasin Baloch and Banaskantha resident Ayub Khan Baloch have approached the High Court against this dialogue.
This demand was made from the court
The petitioners have demanded from the court that unless the controversial dialogue is muted or removed from all versions of the film, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) should be directed to change the certificate of the film. He has also requested the court to order CBFC to review the film again, so that necessary amendments can be made as per the Constitution and law. Hearing in this case is scheduled for Wednesday.
Strong performance at the box office despite controversies
Many controversies have already come to light regarding ‘Dhurandhar’. The film has been accused of being propaganda and reactions have come from different sections. However, despite these controversies, the film is getting tremendous support from the audience. ‘Dhurandhar’ has performed brilliantly at the box office and has achieved the title of the highest-grossing Indian film of the year 2025. The film has also left behind Kantara: Chapter 1 and has made its place in the list of all-time top 10 Indian films.
According to reports, the film has earned around Rs 590 crore at the domestic box office in 19 days, while its worldwide collection has reached Rs 907 crore. It is being speculated that in the coming days the film may also join the Rs 1000 crore club.
