Even after reaching the third week of the release of the film ‘Dhurandhar’, this film has done what perhaps even the veterans of the industry had not expected. Nearly Rs 100 crore figure in the third weekend
This is the first time in the history of Hindi cinema that a film has done a business of around Rs 100 crore in its third weekend. ‘Dhurandhar’ made this record by making a historic earning of Rs 99.70 crore in the third weekend. Earlier this record was in the name of the film ‘Chaava’, which had earned Rs 60.10 crore in the third weekend.
From Chhava to Pushpa 2, everything went up in smoke
If compared, the third weekend of ‘Dhurandhar’ is no less than a storm compared to other superhit films. While ‘Pushpa 2 (Hindi)’ was limited to 60 crores, ‘Stree 2’ could reach only 48.75 crores, ‘Baahubali 2 (Hindi)’ 42.55 crores and ‘Gadar 2’ could reach only 36.95 crores. Even blockbuster films like ‘Jawaan’, ‘Animal’, ‘Dangal’ and ‘Pathan’ could not come close to ‘Dhurandhar’ in the third weekend.

Day-wise collection of the third week
The figures of the third week tell a story in themselves. The film earned Rs 23.70 crore on Friday, Rs 35.70 crore on Saturday and Rs 40.30 crore on Sunday. That means growth was seen every day of the weekend, which is usually only seen in films with very strong word-of-mouth.

The film crossed Rs 579 crore in three weeks
Till now the total earning of ‘Dhurandhar’ in India has reached Rs 579.20 crore. Earning 218 crores in the first week, 261.50 crores in the second week and about 100 crores in the third weekend proves that the film’s hold on the audience is continuously getting stronger. The film’s survival at the box office despite negative discussions and criticisms has become a great example.

Even outside the country, the magic of ‘Dhurandhar’ is at its peak. After the third weekend, overseas collection has reached Rs 186.15 crore. The earning of Rs 180 crore in three weeks abroad shows that the film is not limited to just the Indian audience, but has also made a strong hold at the global level.
The magic of ‘Avatar’ did not work
The interesting thing is that even the big Hollywood film ‘Avatar’ released during this period could not stand in front of ‘Dhurandhar’.
