‘Dhurandhar’ sets new records, leaves ‘Loka’ behind, crosses Rs 300 crore mark

Mumbai: Ranveer Singh’s recent film ‘Dhurandhar’ has created a stir at the box office by performing brilliantly in the first week of its release. Directed by Aditya Dhar, this action thriller film hit the theaters last Friday and has earned more than Rs 313 crore in just 7 days. This information was shared by the film’s producer Jio Studios.

In the Indian market, ‘Dhurandhar’ collected a net collection of Rs 218 crore in the first week. On the first day, the film earned Rs 28.60 crore, and its momentum increased over the weekend. The collection was Rs 33.10 crore on Saturday and Rs 44.80 crore on Sunday. The film’s popularity continued during the week, earning Rs 24.30 crore on Monday, Rs 28.60 crore on Tuesday, Rs 29.30 crore on Wednesday and Rs 29.40 crore on Thursday. In this way the total domestic collection reached Rs 218 crore.

Historical performance of ‘Dhurandhar’

According to the report of trade website Sacknilk, the film has earned around Rs 65 crore in foreign countries also. Thus, its total collection globally has been Rs 313.75 crore. The most interesting thing is that ‘Dhurandhar’ has crossed the total collection so far (303.86 crores) of the successful South film ‘Loka: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ in just one week. During this time, ‘Dhurandhar’ has easily left behind other films like Salman Khan’s ‘Sikander’, Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ and Ajay Devgan’s ‘Raid 2’.

Now everyone’s eyes are on whether Ranveer Singh’s film will be able to break the record of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s ‘War 2’ (364.25 crores). Ranveer’s enthusiasm, action scenes and the fast story of the film are being liked very much by the audience.

Comments from fans are continuously pouring in on social media, where many people are considering it to be the best action film of the year. Its number of shows and screens is good in the second week also, and the festival season is benefiting. Trade experts believe that ‘Dhurandhar’ can easily cross the figure of Rs 400-450 crore.
