Didn’t KKR make a mistake? This cricketer, who was sold for Rs 9.2 crore, may not be able to play many matches in IPL 2026.
Mustafizur Rahman: In the mini auction of IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders landed on the table with the biggest purse of Rs 64.3 crore. The team bought Cameron Green for Rs 25.2 crores and Mathisha Pathirana for Rs 18 crores. Apart from this, the franchise also purchased Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh at a high price of Rs 9.2. During this period, apart from him, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings also tried to bring Rahman to their side. But now such news is coming that this Bangladeshi player will not be available for the full season of IPL 2026.
Should KKR be worried?
According to media reports, Mustafizur Rahman will not be available for IPL from 16 to 23 April, when Bangladesh is going to play ODI and T20 International series against New Zealand. However, the exact dates of the tour have not been decided yet. However, there may not be any major cause for concern for KKR as Mustafizur will be present for a large part of the tournament. This star pacer is a first-team member of the T-20 International team, whereas he is only a squad player in the ODI format. Therefore, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is going to issue a Partial No Objection Certificate (NOC) which will exempt him from the ODI series, and hence he will return to India after playing only the shortest format international series.
