Digital revolution in ST travel! ‘National Common Mobility Card’ will be mandatory, what will be the impact on passengers?
ST Mahamandal: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (ST) has decided to implement the ‘National Common Mobility Card’ (NCMC) system to provide transparent and convenient services beyond cash transactions.
Transport Minister and President of ST Corporation Pratap Sarnaik gave information about this. He explained that this decision is not just a technical improvement, but an important step to strengthen the confidence of passengers digitally.
With this new system, all the facilities of accurate recording of concessions, transparent reimbursement and cashless transactions will be available in one smart card.
Now this card is going to be mandatory to avail various social benefits. Therefore, the travel system will be more disciplined and transparent by curbing malpractices.

Soon the registration drive will be started in all the Agaras in the state. As the registration process will be completed at the bus stations itself, it will also benefit the passengers of rural areas.
Students will be given a card linked to their ‘Saral’ number. Amrit senior citizens, general senior citizens and women passengers will get Aadhaar linked card.
Disabled passengers will be given a special card linked to their UDID number. Also, cards will be distributed to freedom fighters, accredited journalists and state level award winners through the divisional office.
The new card is priced at Rs 199 (including GST) and will be available at Rs 149 on deposit of the old smart card. The card requires a minimum recharge of Rs 100 and can be recharged in multiples of Rs 50.
Recharge facility will be available through ETIM machine, official website, mobile app or designated agent. More than 3000 authorized agents have been appointed for the convenience of senior citizens and women.
This decision of ST will be an important step in giving a digital touch to the traditional travel system. Minister Saranaik expressed the belief that travel will become easier, safer and more transparent through a smart card.
