Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big step towards making the state a digital and artificial intelligence hub. Under this, a plan has been prepared to develop data center parks in eight major cities of the state, which will not only strengthen the digital infrastructure but will also create investment and employment opportunities on a large scale.
In which cities of the state will data centers be built?
According to the government plan, these data center parks will be developed in Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Expressway area, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Agra. The work of identifying land and preparing master plans in these areas is going on at a fast pace.
Interest of companies for investment
Many big companies have shown interest in investing in this project. Companies like HCL Technologies, Adani Group, NTT Data, Yotta Infrastructure, Sterlite Technologies and Sify Technologies have moved forward in this direction. It is being told that investment proposals worth up to Rs 2 lakh crore have come forward, in which agreements have also been made for many projects.
Digital infrastructure will be strengthened
The government is planning to ensure around 900 MW power supply for the smooth operation of the data centre. For this, new sub-stations will be established and the transmission network will be strengthened. Additionally, a single window system has also been implemented to provide an easy and transparent permission process to investors, thereby enabling faster approval of projects.

About 50 thousand direct employment opportunities are expected to be created through this project, while indirectly it will provide work to many more people. New career options will open for the youth in areas related to IT, cloud computing and AI.

Experts believe that with the development of these data center parks, Uttar Pradesh will play an important role in the digital economy of the country. In the coming time, this state can become a big center for AI, cloud and digital services.
