Dilshan Madushanka Joins SRH As Replacement For Injured Brydon Carse
The Sunrisers Hyderabad has picked left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka as a replacement for Brydon Carse for the remainder of the IPL 2026 season.
The England pacer Brydon Carse was retained by SRH ahead of the 2026 auction, but got injured while batting in the nets before the tournament opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The Sri Lankan pacer has joined the side for INR 75 lakhs and is yet to make his debut in IPL. He has been part of the Mumbai Indians in the 2024 season, but was ruled out of the season due to injury. Madushanka has played one test, 28 ODIs and 19 T20Is, picking 70 wickets in total.
The inclusion of Madushanka will boost the SRH’s bowling unit, which has been hit with injury concerns. With Pat Cummins recovering from an injury, Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat being expensice the SRH’ bowling unit has been under radar.

However, they resulted in them handing debuts to Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain against Rajasthan Royals where they secured 57-run victory.
Under the captaincy of Ishan Kishan, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a mixed campaign having two wins out of 5 games. Their victory against Rajasthan Royals helped the side to make a move in IPL 2026 points table with a higher run rate.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their next game against Chennai Super Kings on April 18 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
