Dior names Sonam Kapoor as new global brand ambassador
Luxury fashion house Dior has appointed Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor as its latest global brand ambassador, reflecting the brand’s increasing interest in India’s burgeoning luxury market.
With a following of over 35 million on Instagram, Sonam will showcase Dior’s collections, curated by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, as the brand seeks to deepen its cultural connections within India.
Sonam, the daughter of renowned actor Anil Kapoor and designer Sunita Kapoor, is regarded as a prominent figure in Bollywood, gaining fame through popular romantic comedies such as I Hate Luv Storys and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
Her performance in the critically acclaimed film Neerja showcased her range as an actress and earned her significant recognition.
Currently married to entrepreneur Anand Ahuja, Sonam is set to make her on-screen comeback after a hiatus following the birth of her first child.
Her impact on the fashion industry was recently highlighted by her standout presence at Dior’s ready-to-wear show during Paris Fashion Week, which generated $2.7 million in media impact value, contributing to the brand’s total of $82.7 million.
