There is a great news for the Sikh community and religious travelers of Uttarakhand. The Central Government has approved to start a new rail service between Tanakpur to Takht Sri Nanded Sahib. This decision not only fulfills the years-old demand of the devotees, but will also further establish Devbhoomi Uttarakhand on the map of religious tourism.
Years of demand fulfilled
Takht Sri Nanded Sahib, located in Maharashtra, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites of the Sikh community. But till now the journey from Uttarakhand to here was very long and tiring. After the start of direct train service from Tanakpur, it will now become very easy for thousands of devotees from entire Uttarakhand including the Terai region to travel to Nanded Sahib. This rail connectivity will not only be safe but will also save both time and expense.
CM Dhami expressed gratitude
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on this historic decision. He said that this step respects the sentiments of the Sikh community of Uttarakhand and will give new heights to the religious tourism of the state. CM Dhami called it a decision to strengthen social and cultural unity.
