The filmmaker has shared his views regarding this match on his X account. While posting, he wrote that this contest should not be seen as North vs South or Bollywood vs Sandalwood. Rather, it should be seen as a brutal clash between two different cultures of cinema.

NO, I am not talking about TWO BIG FILMS #Dhurandhar2 and #Toxic releasing on March 19th. I am actually talking about a NEVER BEFORE SEEN or EXPERIENCED mythical archetype EXPLODING in the GRAND ARENA of INDIAN CINEMAS.
It is a BATTLE between DAVID AND GOLIATH…— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) February 22, 2026
Ram Gopal Varma wrote that I firmly believe that the main difference between the two films is that Dhurandhar respects the audience’s intelligence, whereas Toxic A Fairytale for Grownups respects their intelligence. He further said that KGF-2 was a local film aimed at the stupidity of the common people, and Dhurandhar was aimed at the common sense of the people. He said that I am not talking about the two big films releasing on March 19. I am actually talking about a mythological character, never seen or experienced before, who is taking the Indian cinema by storm.
