Padma Vibhushan veteran director writer dies at the age of 91, government announces mourning

MT Vasudevan Nair Death: The stars of the entertainment world had not yet recovered from the demise of filmmaker Shyam Benegal when another bad news has come. Famous Malayalam litterateur, filmmaker and Jnanpith Award winner MT Vasudevan Nair has passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 91. His death has dealt a big blow to the South Film Industry and there is mourning all around.

How did the filmmaker die?

According to the information received, MT Vasudevan Nair was ill for some time. He suffered a heart attack on December 15 and was having difficulty breathing, after which he was admitted to the hospital in Kozhikode. Where, he was undergoing treatment under the supervision of a team of experts including cardiologists and critical care specialists. During treatment, he breathed his last on 25 December. MT Vasudevan Nair has been honored with several awards for his achievements in the literary and film fields. Which also includes Padma Bhushan along with Center and Kerala Sahitya Academy Awards.

Government declared official mourning

After the death of MT Vasudevan Nair, the Kerala government has now announced official mourning on 26 and 27 December. On behalf of Kerala CMO, it has been said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has directed to postpone all government programs including the cabinet meeting to be held on December 26 as a mark of respect. Let us tell you, MT Vasudevan Nair was very famous as a versatile writer, screenwriter and film director of modern Malayalam literature. He has also directed seven films. And has written the scripts of about 54 films.
