“Disappointed with the form, but the passion to score runs has not diminished”, said Butler who was struggling with bad form.

game : England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler admitted that he is “a little disappointed” with his form at the moment, but he is fully prepared to score runs for his team. He said that he is “trying very hard” with his batting, but has not been able to perform well in the T20 World Cup so far.

Butler’s Records:
Although Buttler has not performed impressively in the tournament so far, he has also broken some big records. He achieved the distinction of becoming the fourth and first English batsman to score 4,000 T20I runs. Additionally, he became the third-highest run-scorer in the history of the tournament, surpassing Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene.

Bad form in T20 World Cup:
In this tournament, Buttler has scored just 53 runs in four innings at a poor average of 13.25 and a strike rate of 135.89. This included two single-digit scores and two starts (26 and 21) which he could not make into anything big. Additionally, his highest score in his last 10 T20I innings has been 39, and overall he has scored just 167 runs.

Speaking on the “For the Love of Cricket Podcast”, Buttler said, “To be honest, I am a bit frustrated. I thought I was playing well in SA20, but couldn’t score any. In T20, if you come in and make a good contribution, that’s a lot of pride. I found myself getting out quite a few times in my debut, but I am trying harder this time.”

He said that T20 is a format in which you have to keep playing continuously and play according to the situation instead of controlling your natural game. Butler said, “In T20 you have to play according to the scoreboard. If you are chasing 10 runs in an over, then you have to play according to that.”

Overcoming bad times:
Buttler has faced poor form at times in his career, but he said he always does the same thing—”Stand back, look at the ball and believe in yourself.” He further said, “I have seen bad times in many formats in the last 15 years, but ultimately the only thing that works is maintaining your confidence.”

This statement by Butler definitely gives hope to the cricket lovers of England that he will soon return to his form and make an important contribution to his team.
