Discrepancy in JEE Main 2025 candidates’ photograph; NTA allows rectification

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has identified discrepancies in photographs uploaded by some of the Joint Entrance e(JEE Main) 2025 applicants. To prevent rejection of the JEE applications, NTA has provided an opportunity for candidates to upload new photographs as per the necessary specifications. Candidates need to log in using their credentials and upload the corrected photograph between January 16 and January 17, 2025, by 11:50 PM.

Those who need to make the changes and upload the correct image will be notified through a message on their registered email IDs and an SMS on their mobile number.

JEE Main 2025: Specifications for photograph to be uploaded

  • The passport-size photograph should be between 10 kb to 300 kb.
  • The photograph should be in colour with 80 per cent face (without mask) visible, including ears against a white background.
  • The photograph should be named as ‘Photograph’ and in JPG or JPEG format (clearly legible).
  • Candidates can wear spectacles only if being used regularly.
  • Polaroid and computer-generated photographs will not be acceptable.
  • Application without photographs as per the necessary specification will get rejected.
  • The photographs need not to be attested.
  • Candidates must keep 6 to 8 passport-size colour photographs with white background.
  • Candidates may note that if the photographs uploaded are found to be fabricated i.e. de-shaped or seem to be hand-made or computer-made, the application of the candidate will be rejected. Moreover, it would be considered as an unfair means and the candidate would face consequences accordingly.

The JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam for BTech is scheduled to be held on January 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29, while the BArch exam will be conducted on January 30, 2025, as a computer-based test.
