Discussion on the proposal to remove the Speaker today, Om Birla will not handle the proceedings of the House.

k Newsdesk Top- An unusual but constitutionally very important situation can be seen in the Lok Sabha today. He will not preside over the proceedings of the House during the discussion on the motion brought by the opposition against Speaker Om Birla. According to constitutional rules, when a proposal related to the removal of the Speaker from the post comes up for consideration in the House, the Speaker himself cannot sit on the Speaker’s chair.

Although Om Birla will be present in the House, but instead of sitting on the Speaker’s chair, he will sit in the front row like an ordinary MP and listen to the debate going on against him. During this time, he will also have the right to speak in his defense and if a voting situation arises, he can also participate in it like an ordinary MP.

Actually, in this proposal brought by the opposition, there has been a demand to remove Om Birla from the post of Speaker. The opposition alleges that he adopted a partisan attitude during the proceedings of the House and did not give adequate opportunity to the opposition leaders to present their views. For this reason, the political atmosphere in the Parliament is already heated and now everyone’s eyes are fixed on which direction the debate on this proposal goes in the House.

According to the provisions of the Constitution, when such a motion against the Speaker comes up for discussion, the responsibility for the proceedings of the House is handed over to some other member. This is the reason that Om Birla will not sit on the Speaker’s chair during this debate and the proceedings of the House will be conducted by the presiding member.

Meanwhile, there was uproar in the House regarding this issue. Presiding member Jagadambika Pal told the opposition parties that if they have brought the proposal, then it should also be discussed seriously.

Now everyone’s eyes are fixed on what will be the debate on this proposal and its possible consequences. Political analysts believe that this debate will not only impact the proceedings of Parliament, but can also affect the political environment of the country in the coming days.
