Discussion with the Union Minister on the proposals for industrial development and investment of Chhattisgarh.

New Delhi. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi today. The state's industrial corridors, international air cargo facilities and several other developmental issues were discussed in the meeting. In this meeting, the Union Minister has assured to approve many proposals for the development of Chhattisgarh, which will give a new direction to the state. The main issue of the meeting was the development of industrial corridor of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Sai requested the Center to connect Korba-Bilaspur-Raipur with Nagpur Industrial Corridor. Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on this proposal that he assured that it will be implemented soon. He also directed the officials of the Government of India to take necessary action in this regard.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister also stressed the need for international air cargo facilities in Raipur. He said this would boost exports of agricultural and food processing products of the state. The Chief Minister said that the old terminal of Raipur can be used for this facility, which will ease exports. Union Minister Goyal showed a positive attitude on this and assured to give the approval soon. This facility will help the state's industries to compete in global markets. The issue of establishment of APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) certification office was also raised in the meeting. The Chief Minister said that with the establishment of this office, the agricultural products of Chhattisgarh will get global recognition, which will benefit the farmers and industrialists. The Union Minister said on this proposal that the Government of India will provide all possible help on this.

Increasing the capacity of Concor Container Depot located in Raipur was also discussed in the meeting. Chief Minister Sai said that at present only 15% of the total capacity of the depot is being utilized. He requested the Union Minister to add more shipping lines, which will reduce export costs and boost trade activities. The Union Minister also showed a positive attitude on this and said that this issue will be resolved with the Shipping Ministry soon. Chief Minister Sai also demanded organizing national and international business events in Nava Raipur. This proposal will be an important step towards developing Chhattisgarh as a business and industrial centre. This will boost the commercial activities of the state and create new business opportunities. Union Minister Goyal agreed to all these proposals and assured early implementation. Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Amitabh Jain, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Industrial Commerce Secretary of Chhattisgarh Rajat Kumar, Investment Commissioner of Chhattisgarh in New Delhi Ritu Sain, Residential Commissioner Shruti Singh were also present in the meeting.

Demand for establishment of IT and multi-sector SEZ

Chief Minister Sai also proposed setting up IT Services Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Nava Raipur and multi-sector SEZs in other growth hubs of the state. For this, 400 acres of land has been identified in Janjgir and Rajnandgaon. The Chief Minister said that at present raw material is being exported from Chhattisgarh to other states, this step is being taken to stop it and to promote industrial development in the state. The Union Minister expressed hope for early implementation of this project along with feasibility study.

Union Minister informed about the new Industrial Policy 2024-29

The Government of Chhattisgarh has announced to implement the new Industrial Policy 2024-29 to achieve the goal of “Amritkaal: Chhattisgarh Vision @ 2047. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai informed Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal about this policy, which aims to encourage industrial development, increase employment opportunities and achieve economic prosperity. The Chief Minister said that the objective of this policy is to transform Chhattisgarh into a prosperous and sustainable economic environment. This policy will open a new path of development by promoting industrial activities in the state.
