Dishonesty has been exaggerated, it is not that much of a problem: Gukesh

Prague World Champion D Gukesh has clearly said that the problem of dishonesty in chess is not as big as it is being projected. In a press conference organized for the Prague International Chess Festival, Gukesh said that he does not agree with former world champion Vladimir Kramnik who has often accused many chess players of dishonesty in online matches. Gukesh said, “I am against any kind of unfair play. This is a problem that has come to light.” The whole world stood with American Grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky, who left the world at the age of just 29.

He was a content creator in chess and became quite emotional in his last stream a few days before his untimely demise. Earlier, world number one Magnus Carlsen, FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich and India’s Arjun Erigesi and Nihal Sarin had also criticized Kramnik as he could not provide evidence to support his allegations. Meanwhile, Gukesh will face America’s Hans Mock Niemann in the first round of the super tournament. India’s Aravind Chidambaram will face Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattorov.
