Disobedience to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's order, arbitrariness of Rural Development Department

Lucknow – Despite the instructions of the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath, there is disappointment among the employees in the Rural Development Department due to the salaries not being paid on time on Diwali. In the entire state, about 39,000 contract employees posted in the ambitious scheme of the Central Government, MNREGA, are not getting their salaries. There is darkness during the festival of Diwali and there is a crisis of livelihood for the MNREGA employees who are facing financial crisis. Contrary to the instructions of the state government to give salary/honorarium to all the employees during Diwali festival, the situation of Diwali remains deserted due to non-payment of honorarium to the employees working under MNREGA, employment servants, computer operators, accounts assistants and additional program officers.

Ankur Shukla, executive president of Gram Rozgar Sevak Sangh of Mohanlalganj in the capital Lucknow, said that for the first time in the holy festival of Diwali, the festival will be celebrated without the wick of a lamp. There is disappointment among the employees due to not getting honorarium during Diwali festival. He said that due to non-payment of honorarium for about nine months, the morale of the employees is being adversely affected and the situation of MNREGA scheme is also being affected. If honorarium is not received then the joy of the festival is sure to be dull in the families of MNREGA workers and employment servants.
