DIVINE teams up with Hanumankind for a show-stopping set – Read

This year’s lineup featured more than 20 Indian and international artists, headlined by Grammy-nominated American rapper Pusha T and Indian hip-hop icon DIVINE.

DIVINE’s nearly two-hour set showcased a collection of his biggest hits, captivating the audience with a high-energy performance that highlighted his unique blend of Mumbai street narratives and modern hip-hop beats.

In a standout moment, DIVINE brought Hanumankind to the stage for a thrilling rendition of their viral track Big Dawgs, while other acts, including Sambata, Prabh Deep, Yashraj, Siege, Reble, Bombay Bassment, and Gully Gang All Stars, kept the energy high with their own chart-topping hits like Obsessed, Soch, Chitta, Hood Life, and Dhundhla.

Each artist brought a unique sound, drawing from a rich spectrum of languages and regional influences, showcasing the diversity and depth of India’s hip-hop scene.

Pusha T, renowned for collaborations with industry legends like Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Jay-Z, made his Indian debut to roaring applause. Impressed by the festival’s momentum, he noted that Gully Fest has the potential to become an international hub for hip-hop, attracting global talent and audiences for future editions.

Chaitanya Kataria, Co-Founder of Gully Fest, remarked on the festival’s monumental impact: “Gully Fest 2024 redefined the landscape of Indian hip-hop. The overwhelming response from the audience and the incredible performances by both international and Indian artists was nothing short of phenomenal. We’re committed to making Gully Fest an annual celebration of hip-hop culture, and we can’t wait to take it to newer cities in the future.”

Beyond the performances, Gully Fest 2024 offered an immersive cultural experience that blended music with art and street culture. Attendees could participate in live graffiti art sessions, beatboxing showcases, enjoy a dedicated basketball court, an on-site barbershop, and exclusive merchandise sales. The festival’s distinctive blue and yellow campaign gave Mumbai a new, edgy visual identity, capturing the spirit of the event across the city.

Among the high-profile attendees were India’s UFC pioneers Anshul Jubli and Puja Tomar, along with prominent figures from the creator community such as Naezy, Scout, Khanzadi, Just Neel Things, Harsh Rane, and Raga.

The event was made possible through partnerships with Parimatch News as the main sponsor, Insider for ticketing, and NESCO Events as the venue host.
