Divyanshu-Shambhavi win 10m air rifle mixed team gold with junior world record

Divyanshu Dewangan and Shambhavi Kshirsagar combined to win 10m mixed air rifle gold medal the ISSF Junior World Cup with a world record score on Friday.

Dewangan and Kshirsagar shot an impressive 499.9 in the final to pip the team from Chinese Taipei (498.3) to win the gold medal.

Earlier in the day, Dewangan and Kshirsagar had topped the qualification round as well, shooting 632.0.

Meanwhile, the other Indian team in contention of Naraen Pranav Vanitha Suresh and Aneesha Sharma failed to advance to the final, scoring 623.3 to finish seventh in the qualification round.

Elsewhere, Sameer finished seventh in men’s 25m rapid fire pistol.

The only Indian in contention in the event, Sameer had finished second in the qualification round with a score of 573.

Sagnik Banerjee, Abhinav Choudhary, Sahil Choudhary, Bhanu Pratap Singh Shekhawat and Pranshu Suryawanshi had all finished outside of top 8 in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol qualification, failing to advance to the finals.
