Stuffed Paneer Balls Recipe

Necessary Materials

200 grams paneer (mashed)
1 cup mashed potatoes (boiled)
½ cup mixed vegetables (boiled, like carrots, peas, capsicum)
2 finely chopped green chillies
1 tsp garam masala
salt as per taste
Cornflour (for coating)
oil for frying

Method of preparation

  1. First of all, take paneer and boiled potatoes in a vessel and mash them well so that no lumps remain. Now add boiled mixed vegetables, green chillies, garam masala and salt and mix well.
  2. Divide the prepared mixture into small portions and make round shaped balls. You can keep the size of the balls small or big as per your choice.
  3. Take out the cornflour in a bowl and coat each ball in the cornflour. Due to this, the outer part of the balls will become crispy when fried. After coating the balls, refrigerate them for 30 minutes so that they set.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is well heated, slowly drop the balls into the oil and fry on medium flame until they become golden and crisp. Fry the balls evenly by turning them so that they become crispy from all sides.
  5. Remove the stuffed paneer balls from the oil and place them on a paper napkin to absorb the excess oil. Serve them with hot mint chutney, tomato sauce, tea or coffee.

Crispy Rice Flour Chakli Recipe

Necessary Materials

2 cups rice flour
2 tbsp gram flour
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 tsp celery
salt as per taste
2 tbsp butter (warmed)
Water (to knead the dough)
oil for frying

Method of preparation

  1. In a large bowl, add rice flour, gram flour, red chilli powder, sesame seeds, celery, salt and melted butter. Mix all these ingredients well so that the butter and spices get mixed evenly in the flour.
  2. Now slowly add water to this mixture and prepare a soft dough. Keep in mind that the dough should neither be too thin nor too hard. Keep it covered for a while so that the dough sets properly.
  3. Use chakli press (chakli maker) to make chakli. Put the kneaded dough in the press and keep it ready.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Once the oil is well heated, slowly make chakli shaped strips in the pan using a chakli press and put them in the oil.
  5. Fry the chaklis on medium flame until they become golden and crisp on both sides. Once the chakli turns golden in color, take it out and place it on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  6. Crispy rice chakli is now ready. Serve it with hot ginger tea or coffee. You can serve it as a snack on any special occasion or festival.
