When will Diwali be celebrated

According to Hindu religion, the festival of Diwali is celebrated on the day of Kartik Amavasya. In such a situation, Amavasya Tithi will enter during Pradosh period on 31st October, which is considered to be the most appropriate time for Lakshmi Puja. At the same time, after Pradosh Kaal on 1st November, Amavasya will remain only for a few minutes, due to which time for Lakshmi Puja will not be available. Therefore, celebrating Diwali on 31st October is according to the scriptures and appropriate.

Amavasya date and auspicious time

This year, Amavasya Tithi will start from 3:52 pm on 31st October and will continue till 6:16 pm on 1st November. According to astrological calculations, Amavasya Tithi on the night of 31st October will be present during Pradosh Kaal and midnight, which is the most auspicious time for Lakshmi Puja. Therefore, it has been decided to celebrate the festival of Diwali on 31st October itself.

Diwali worship method

1. Place a stool in the east or north-east direction and spread red or pink cloth on it.
 
2. After this, first of all place the idol of Lord Ganesha and install Goddess Lakshmi on its right side.

3. Sitting on the seat, sprinkle water all around and start the puja by taking a resolution.

4.Light a one-sided ghee lamp and offer flowers and sweets to Lord Ganesha and Mother Lakshmi.

5. First of all chant the mantras of Lord Ganesha and then Goddess Lakshmi. At the end, perform aarti and blow conch.

6. Decorate the plate with five lamps and offer flowers and sweets in it. Then place lamps in different parts of the house, temple, and near the well.

7. During worship, wear red, yellow or bright colored clothes and avoid black, brown or blue colored clothes.

Importance of Diwali

The festival of Diwali is celebrated to celebrate the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya. It is believed that on this day Goddess Lakshmi visits every home of her devotees and blesses them. Therefore, on this day it is considered auspicious to welcome Goddess Lakshmi by keeping the house clean and decorated with lamps. This year, as per the decision of scholars and astrological calculations, Diwali will be celebrated on 31st October only. Worshiping Lakshmi with full rituals on this day will bring happiness, prosperity and peace in the house.
