Delhi: Despite the strict orders and restrictions of the Supreme Court and the government, a lot of firecrackers were burst on the night of Diwali. Due to which the air of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Mumbai and other cities became poisonous. Due to which the AQI level was recorded beyond 900 at many places at night. The pollution level was seen in very serious category at many places. Let us tell you that AQI was recorded above 350 in the areas of Delhi. Due to this, people had to face a lot of difficulty in breathing. In many states, a blanket of smog and pollution was seen the next morning of Diwali.

On October 14, the Delhi government had imposed a complete ban on the production, sale, storage and use of firecrackers in the entire state. Which will remain in force till January 1, 2025. Even after this, the people of Delhi woke up to smog and pollution on the next morning of Diwali. According to the information, the pollution level in Delhi has been the worst in the last three years. Due to which the air can prove to be suffocating for everyone from children to the elderly.
Firecrackers banned in these states
Apart from Delhi, firecrackers were also banned in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Hajipur of Bihar. There was a ban on firecrackers in Maharashtra and Bengal. However, burning of green crackers was allowed. But still, clandestine buying and selling of firecrackers continued in the states. Due to which the level of air pollution remained increased. In Punjab and Haryana, the state government had limited the timing of bursting of firecrackers on major festivals including Diwali, Christmas and New Year.

AQI between 0 and 50 is considered to be of good quality. Whereas between 51 to 100 it is satisfactory. Between 101 and 200 it is kept in the moderate category. From 201 to 300 it is considered bad. Apart from this, between 301 and 400 it is considered very bad and between 401 and 500 it is kept in serious category. This year, due to lack of wind, the pollution situation has become worrying.
