How to make soan papdi at home during festive season

2 cups sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup gram flour
1 cup ghee
2 spoons fresh milk
1 cup water
one teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tbsp finely chopped dry fruits

Soan Papdi Recipe
  • To make Soan Papdi at home, first of all, take gram flour and flour in a large bowl and mix them together.
  • Then take a heavy pan and heat it on medium flame.
  • When the pan gets properly heated, add some ghee in it.
  • Add the flour mixture to the pan and fry on low flame until it becomes light golden.
  • Keep stirring the flour slowly in between. So that it does not stick to the pan.
  • When it turns brown, keep it aside to cool.
  • Now prepare the syrup in another pan.
  • Mix sugar and water in a vessel. Let it cook on flame. When it boils, add milk to it.
  • When the syrup starts thickening, add the flour mixture to the syrup.
  • Stir it well with a large fork until it starts forming like threads.
  • Now put it in a greased plate and spread it to a thickness of 1 inch.
  • After this, add ground cardamom on top and press gently with the palm.
  • Now let it cool and then cut it into 1 inch square pieces.
  • If you want, you can store it in an airtight container.
