Govardhan Puja Mistakes: The festival of Govardhan Puja is celebrated on the next day of Diwali. This year Govardhan Puja is on 1st November i.e. Sunday. This puja was started by Lord Shri Krishna. According to Hindu beliefs, on this festival Govardhan is made from cow dung and worshiped. There is also a tradition of worshiping Mother Cow in Govardhan Puja. One should avoid making mistakes while worshiping on this day. Let us know what things need to be kept in mind on the day of Govardhan Puja.

When is Govardhan Puja?
This time Pratipada Tithi is starting from 06:16 PM on 01 November 2024, which will continue till 08:21 PM the next day on 2 November, hence on the basis of Udayatithi, Govardhan Puja will be performed on 02 November 2024.
Do not make these mistakes even by mistake on Govardhan Puja
- Everyone in the house should perform Govardhan Puja together because performing the puja separately is considered extremely inauspicious.
- In the worship of Govardhan, one should not forget to offer offerings to cows along with Lord Krishna.
- Do not harass or cause any harm to cows, plants, animals etc. not only on the day of Govardhan Puja but also on other days.
- Do not consume meat and alcohol on the day of Govardhan Puja because doing so can cause unrest in life.
- If you are circumambulating Govardhan Mountain, wear clean clothes. Worshiping wearing dirty clothes on the day of Govardhan Puja is considered very inauspicious.
- Govardhan parikrama should always be done barefoot. Apart from this, if you have started parikrama of Govardhan Parvat then you should never leave it incomplete.
- Do not wear black colored clothes even by mistake on this day. It is considered auspicious to wear yellow or orange colored clothes on the day of Govardhan Puja.
- Always perform Govardhan Puja in an open place like courtyard, balcony or terrace of the house. Doing this is considered very auspicious.
