Jaipur, 26 November (HS). Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has said that do not create disbelief towards the Constitution. No one can change the basic structure of the Constitution. The twenty-two parts of the Constitution describe our culture and morality. Every citizen of the nation should read the Constitution, know it and try to live a life according to it. The Constitution is our soul and holy book. It is also the self-respect of our life values and culture. The Constitution is not just a legal document, but a reflection of the aspirations, values and ideals of the people of democratic India.
Devnani inaugurated the newly constructed Constitution Gallery in the Political Narrative Museum in a function organized on Constitution Day in the Legislative Assembly here on Tuesday. In this Constitution Gallery, the artefacts shown at the beginning of the twenty-two parts of the original Constitution have been displayed. Devnani said that the objective of the Constitution Gallery is to make the common people and youth aware of the nation and its constitution as well as to bring awareness about the constitution, culture and morality. He has described Constitution Day as a day of remembrance to pay respect to the makers of the Constitution and express gratitude for their unforgettable contribution.
Hundreds of advocates, students of law institutes as well as distinguished citizens and officers and employees of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly participated in the Constitution Day celebration organized for the first time on the initiative of Speaker Devnani in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Devnani called upon the lawyers to cooperate in enforcing the rights granted by the Constitution. According to the spirit of the Constitution and the expectations of Dr. Ambedkar, as per the need of today’s time, people should get speedy justice, cheap justice, the Constitution should be protected, there should be loyalty to the Constitution and we should avoid all unconstitutional actions. He asked to work in the interest of society and nation.
Devnani said that on the cover page of twenty-two parts of the Constitution there are pictures showing India’s culture and self-respect. The Constitution of India is the longest and written constitution in the world. This is the foundation of our democratic republic. The history of the Constitution of India is rooted in the struggles and hopes of millions of Indians who yearned for freedom, justice and equality. The Indian freedom struggle under the leadership of great men like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Patel, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar had lit the spark of hope for an independent and democratic India.
Devnani said that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, known as the chief architect of the Constitution, played a key role in drafting this monumental document, hence this special day was celebrated in 2015 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb. ‘It was decided to celebrate it as Constitution Day, the objective of which is to develop constitutional values among the citizens and increase faith in the Constitution. The Indian Constitution is a document of amazing logic, foresight and sensitivity that incorporates the best elements of various constitutions of the world and represents the rich cultural and philosophical traditions of India.
Devnani said that as a citizen of India, we should adopt the principles of the Constitution and try to live by its ideals. Our democracy depends not only on the functioning of political institutions but also on the active participation of its citizens. By upholding the values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity, we can ensure that India remains a symbol of hope and progress for generations to come. He said that the Constitution keeps being amended as per the time and need and should be made.
Parliamentary Affairs and Law Minister Jogaram Patel said that the Constitution Day celebration organized for the first time at a sacred place like the Legislative Assembly is important. The basic spirit of the Constitution is public service and it is the communication of human power. The Constitution of India is strong. The faith of every citizen of India has increased in this. Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie said that every citizen of the nation has the right on the nation’s air, land and water. Everyone in the nation is equal, hence there is the same legislation for everyone, which is called the Constitution. Deeply understand the essence of the Constitution and fulfill your responsibility. Advocate General Rajendra Prasad said that there is harmony between the Constitution of the Legislative Assembly and today’s day. The judiciary, executive and legislature should together follow the Constitution. The basic objective of Constitution Day is to spread the knowledge of the Constitution.
Additional Advocate General Basant Chhaba said that the nature of the Constitution is contained in the Preamble of the Constitution itself. Senior advocate RN Mathur said that providing relief to the last person is compliance with the Constitution. Women and children should be given priority.
President Devnani presented copies of the Constitution to the guests as souvenirs. On this occasion, members of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, former members, Special Secretary Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Special Assistant K.K. Advocates including Sharma, law college students and officers and employees of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly were present.
