Do not interfere in the selection of the Dalai Lama’s successor! China warns India
Dalai Lama (Dalai Lama Succession) in conflict again India-China! Beijing has warned New Delhi about the selection of the successor of the Buddhist monk. They have informed that they will not accept any external interference in the selection of Dalai Lama’s successor. Because, it is completely China’s internal matter. Only the Chinese government has the right to make the final decision on this matter.
“The election of the Dalai Lama’s successor is based on centuries-old religious practices and historical traditions. The entire process is based on the approval of the Chinese government,” Yu Jing, spokesperson of the Chinese embassy in India, said on social media on Sunday. He claims that the current 14th Dalai Lama was also recognized through the same process. He further said, “The so-called Central Tibetan Administration has no international recognition. Therefore, they have no legitimacy to represent the Tibetan people. Therefore, they cannot comment on the election of the Dalai Lama’s successor.” It should be noted that Penpa Tsering, the head of the Central Tibetan Administration, is going to take oath for the second time in Dharamshala on May 27. Current Dalai Lama is supposed to be present there. Before that, the Chinese official’s comment is quite significant, according to analysts. A statement issued by the Chinese Embassy further said, ‘We hope India will keep its promises. Will not condone any activity promoting Tibetan independence and will not interfere in the election of the Dalai Lama’s successor.’
In 1959, the current Dalai Lama escaped from Tibet with a group to escape from the Chinese invaders and took refuge in India. Since then, Beijing considers him a ‘separatist’. The Dalai Lama has tried many times to liberate Tibet from China with India’s help. China’s diplomatic tension with India has been going on since the time of Nehru. It has been proven time and again that the level of tension has not decreased so much. In that case, he showed gratitude to India. But before his death, he also told him about his desire to return to Tibet.
