Do not send the Naga Sadhu home empty handed, donate these things, your life will be filled with the blessings of Lord Shiva.

On hearing the name of Naga Sadhu, the first thing that comes to mind is his ascetic lifestyle and the nectar bath he took in Mahakumbh. The life of these sadhus is highly mystical and full of penance, and when they come to beg for alms, there is a special religious significance attached to it. If a Naga Sadhu comes to your house for alms, it is a special religious occasion for you. During this time, if you donate some special things to them, it is believed that you get the blessings of Lord Shiva and your luck can open.

More than 5,000 Naga Sadhus, especially the Sadhus of Juna Akhara, are currently engrossed in their penance in the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. On Saturday, these sadhus performed Pind Daan of themselves and their seven generations at Sangam Ghat, and now the next step in their process of becoming Naga Sadhus has started. These sadhus will be officially initiated as Naga Sadhus on 29th January on Mauni Amavasya. The life of these sadhus is so ascetic that they earn their living by begging.

Lord Shiva's blessings by donating to Naga Sadhu

The almsgiving of a Naga Sadhu is considered an important way to please Lord Shiva. It is said that if you donate to a Naga Sadhu, it pleases Lord Shiva. If they come to your house to beg for alms, they should not be returned empty handed. Special blessings of Lord Shiva are obtained by donating two things in particular: Bhasma and Rudraksh. Both these things not only have religious importance, but are also helpful in the livelihood of Naga Sadhus. Apart from this, you can also give food items and general alms to the sadhu.

Difficult process of becoming a Naga Sadhu

The process of becoming a Naga Sadhu is extremely difficult and ascetic. These saints give up their lives and remain engaged in worshiping Lord Shiva. It is believed that before becoming a Naga Sadhu, he performs severe penance and gives up all his worldly ties. The life of a Naga Sadhu is such that he has already performed Pind Daan before his death. According to Hindu religion, when a person passes away, his Pind Daan is performed, but Naga Sadhus have already performed this task.

Naga Sadhus' unique method after death

After the death of a Naga Sadhu, he is not cremated. Ashes are offered to his dead body and saffron colored clothes are worn. Their Samadhi is made by water or land Samadhi. This specific process shows that the Naga Sadhu had already ended his life, and now his Samadhi is established with only respect and worship. An eternal mark is also placed on the tomb of such saints so that the sanctity of that place is maintained.

Juna Akhara: The largest and most prestigious Akhara

The largest Akhara of Naga Sadhus is Juna Akhara, in which about 5 lakh Sadhus and Mahamandaleshwar Sanyasi are associated. This Akhara plays a major role in the Mahakumbh, and a large number of sadhus are associated with this Akhara. Naga Sadhus are considered protectors of religion, and their aim is only to protect the society and religion. People respect the religious rituals associated with their lifestyle and penance.
