Ducks In Cricket:-
golden duck
If a player is out on the first ball of his innings, he is called a golden duck. This is the most popular duck of cricket and you too must have heard it mentioned often.
diamond duck
When a batsman is out without playing a single ball, it is called a diamond duck. This can happen for only two reasons. First run out and second time out.
silver duck
Silver Duck: When a batsman is out on the second ball without opening his account i.e. on zero on the second ball, then it is called a silver duck.
bronze duck
When a batsman is out on the third ball without scoring a single run, it is called a bronze duck.
Royal Duck
If any player is out on the first ball of a match then it is called a royal duck. This generally applies only to openers.
titanium duck
When a player is out on the first ball of an innings (first or second), it is called a titanium duck. In this way only the opening batsmen are out.
laughing duck
You would rarely see a batsman getting out on Laughing Duck. If a batsman is out on zero on the last ball of the team’s innings without opening the account, then he is called laughing duck.
Golden Goose Duck
Golden Goose Duck is also like Golden Duck. However, the only difference in this is of season or match. For example, if a new batsman is out on the first ball of the first match of the new season without opening the account, then it is called a golden duck goose.
Pair Duck
Paired duck test is applicable only to cricket. Pair duck occurs when a batsman is out for zero in both the innings of a test match. However, it does not matter how many balls the batsman played during this period, what matters is only his getting out on zero in both the innings.
King Pair Duck
King Pair Duck also happens in Test cricket only. If a batsman is out on the first ball in both innings of a test match without opening his account, then he is called a king pair duck.
