Doctor missing in PHC Kachnarwa, people demonstrated strongly

Primary Health Center Kachnarwa under newly created development block Kon/CHC Chopan is without a doctor. Let us tell you that there is a pharmacist, a contractual ANM, a fourth class employee and a doctor appointed at the said health center, but the irony is that the doctors at the said health center remain missing almost all the time for years.
According to the information received, medical officers come once a month for one day and complete the paper quorum for the month. Due to which, on Monday, the local people staged a strong protest demanding regular duty of the doctor and tightening the noose on such negligent medical officers.

Kailash Ram, along with senior social workers Jokhan Prasad and Ganga Prasad, have accused the Medical Officer in Charge that when the doctor is on duty at PHC Kachnarwa, then why is he not seen in the hospital, while the local people are running from pillar to post for treatment and are forced to risk their lives by resorting to quack doctors. In such a situation, question marks are bound to be raised on the poor system of the health department.

It is worth noting that PHC Kachnarwa is surrounded by about 12 kilometers from all sides. Here the innocent public is worried for treatment but the department is not able to hear its voice and these days the hospital is shedding tears over its plight. Here, neither the toilet arrangement is proper nor the electricity arrangement in the campus. It has become a cause of trouble for patients coming at night under adverse conditions.
Let us tell you that there are heaps of bushes and dirt all around here. While on one hand the eminent Chief Minister and Health Minister of the state are committed to the health care of the poor, on the other hand people’s health is being played with by such irresponsible doctors who are not in the public interest. Mainly Jokhan Prasad, Bihari Prasad Yadav, Ganga Prasad, Amarkesh, Kailas, Raghuvar Prasad etc. participated in the demonstration.
An attempt was made to get information from PHC in-charge Medical Officer Kachnarwa on cell phone but the call was not received, instead he called his pharmacist and got information but did not consider it appropriate to talk to journalists. In this regard, CHC Superintendent Chopan said that let us find out what is the reality. Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr PK Rai said on cell phone that he will find out.
After all, the biggest question is how the officials sitting at the top positions are not aware of this. The question in people’s minds is whether people will be able to get medical facilities or will they keep losing their lives by resorting to quack doctors. The protesters have demanded from the District Magistrate and Chief Medical Officer that such negligent doctor should be immediately dismissed and another doctor should be appointed.
