This incident is said to have taken place on Monday, the video of which is now going viral on social media and is raising serious questions on the health system.
The victim patient Arjun Panwar alleges that he had reached the hospital for medical examination and after bronchoscopy, he was having severe difficulty in breathing. Meanwhile, a doctor started misbehaving with him without any provocation, which later turned into a fight.

The patient was lying in the ward after having difficulty in breathing.
According to Arjun Panwar, after bronchoscopy his condition started deteriorating and he started having trouble breathing. Due to this he lay down on a bed in another ward. At the same time, the doctor who reached there started behaving rudely with him. Arjun told, “I had just undergone bronchoscopy and was having difficulty breathing. When I asked for oxygen, the doctor started questioning me about my admission status.”
Misbehavior by saying ‘tu is just tu’, assault on protesting
The patient says that when he appealed to the doctor to talk to him respectfully, the situation worsened. In Arjun’s words, I asked him to talk to me properly, but he became more aggressive. He told me, ‘tu is just tu’. When I asked if he talked to his family the same way, he said I was being ‘personal’ and then started hitting me.”
Doctor seen beating patient lying on bed in viral video
In the viral video on social media, it can be clearly seen that the doctor is repeatedly hitting Arjun Panwar who was lying on the bed. The patient is seen trying to save himself, but the doctor continuously raises his hand on him. There is huge anger among the people after the video surfaced.
Crowd gathered in the hospital, demanding action against the doctor
After the incident, a large number of people gathered in the IGMC hospital premises and started demanding strict action against the accused doctor. This incident with the patient has raised questions on the functioning of the hospital and the behavior of the doctors.
Three-member investigation committee formed, FIR registered
Taking the matter seriously, the IGMC Shimla administration has constituted a three-member inquiry committee. Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Rahul Rao said that the committee is investigating the matter and will submit its report soon. Dr. Rahul Rao said that an FIR has also been registered against the accused doctor and further action will be taken on the basis of investigation.
