The U.S. dollar rose against the Vietnamese dong on the black market Saturday morning.

Unofficial exchange points sold the greenback 0.18% higher at VND27,520. Vietcombank kept its rate unchanged at VND26,362.

Globally the U.S. dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six world currencies, traded near 100.00 during the early European trading hours on Friday, according to FXStreet.

The dollar remained on positive footing despite renewed concerns over a prolonged conflict in the Middle East. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the war’s core objectives are “nearing completion” and could conclude within two to three weeks. He warned he would bomb Iran “back to the Stone Age” if it did not agree to an unconditional surrender.
