The Indian team has been performing poorly for the last few months. First the ODI series against Sri Lanka, then the Test series against New Zealand at home and recently faced a crushing defeat against Australia. Ever since the decline in the team's performance and the controversy in the dressing room came to light, it was expected that the Board of Control for Cricket in India would take some strict action. Now BCCI, after a review meeting, has come up with 10 strict rules to increase unity in the team and improve the performance again. Let us know what these rules are.
BCCI in the team "discipline and unity" To bring this, a 10-point agenda has been issued, which all the players will have to compulsorily follow. Under this ten-point formula, players will now have to compulsorily play domestic cricket, so players will not be able to bring even their personal staff with them in foreign tours. Also, players will not be able to take part in the shooting of personal advertisements during any series and in case of non-compliance of these instructions, BCCI will take appropriate disciplinary action against the players. This includes reduction in central contract retainer fees and even banning participation in the Indian Premier League.
During the foreign tours of the Indian team, the family or wife of the players will be allowed to stay with the team for only 2 weeks. This rule will apply to players as well as everyone involved in the coaches and support staff. Apart from this, no player will be allowed to travel separately with his family during the tours. Along with the practice session, he will also accompany the team from the hotel to the stadium on the match day. If any player wants exemption from this, he will have to take approval from the chairman of the selection committee and the head coach.
It is mandatory for all players to play in domestic matches
According to the new guidelines of BCCI, it will be mandatory for players to participate in domestic matches for selection in the national team and to remain in the central contract. With this, all the players will be able to maintain their match fitness and also strengthen their game. Apart from this, young players will also get a chance to learn a lot from him. Exemption from this rule will be available only in some special reasons, for which approval will have to be taken from the head coach and the chairman of the selection committee.
All players will have to remain in the practice session
Now all the players will have to stay in the practice session for the entire duration of the scheduled practice session. Under this rule, no player can leave the field after completing his practice.
There will be no exemption for carrying extra luggage.
Now all the players will not be allowed to carry extra luggage in foreign tours and series in the country, in which they will have to follow the limit set by BCCI. If a player carries extra luggage, he will have to bear his own expenses.
Players will have to inform the team management before sending anything to the Center of Excellence.
Players will now have to send separate bags to the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru or inform the team management before sending any equipment and personal items. Any additional costs incurred due to different arrangements will be the responsibility of the player.
Players will not be able to shoot advertisements during the series
Now no player of the Indian team will be able to shoot advertisements during any series. BCCI has made it clear regarding this also with its new rule. This rule has been implemented to keep the players focused only on that series or tour.
Family Travel Plan Policy
A family travel plan policy has been implemented for players to ensure a balance between player and team commitments.
It is mandatory to attend BCCI official events.
Now it will be mandatory for all players to participate in official shoots and events of BCCI. This partnership is essential to maintain BCCI's commitments to stakeholders and effectively promote the game.
Players will be allowed to return home only after the series is over
Now, under the new rules, no player will be allowed to return home early after the end of a match or series, they will have to return after the tour is over, even if the match ends before the scheduled time.
