Domestic violence: Husband shot wife and himself, both died, had love marriage five years ago
After marriage, due to some dispute, both of them lived separately.
Mathura. After a dispute between a couple from Madhya Pradesh in Mathura, the husband shot his wife with a pistol and then killed himself. Superintendent of Police (City) Rajiv Kumar Singh said that the incident took place on Thursday night in Suryanagar Colony located on Govardhan Road in the Highway police station area. Pokhan (23) of Kandhari village of Basai police station area of Datia district of Madhya Pradesh was living at her friend Ragini’s house for the last few days. She had a love marriage with Mithun (27), a resident of Chhibrabari, BHEL, Jhansi, five years ago.
According to the police, after marriage, due to some dispute, both of them started living separately. Pokhan was working in a spa center in Gonda, while Mithun worked in Jhansi. Eight days ago, Pokhan came to Mathura and started living with her friend Ragini and started working in a beauty parlor.
According to SP City, Mithun reached Mathura in search of his wife on Thursday itself. Police said that the two were having a conversation at home when an altercation started. A case of dispute between the couple was also pending in the court.
According to the police officer, it is suspected that Mithun was pressurizing Pokhan to end this case, but she did not agree. According to the police, in anger, Mithun shot Pokhan with the pistol he had brought with him. As soon as Pokhan fell, Mithun placed the gun on his temple and shot himself. Both of them died within a few moments.
As soon as the information was received, SP City Rajeev Kumar Singh and station in-charge Prashant Kapil reached the spot with heavy police force. The forensic team collected evidence and sent both the bodies for post-mortem. SP City said that initial investigation has revealed a dispute between the couple. The families of both have been informed.
